    • Which files can’t you open and which software are you using. If you are using an older version of Microsoft Office you can download the compatibility pack that will let you open the new format documents. The alternative is to use some free software like Open Office which (partially) supports the latest office format.

      • If you use OpenOffice.org or LibreOffice then odf-converter-integrator is good at converting new MS Office files to usable format.

  1. I am having the same trouble with the pptx files. When I try to download them I am asked to save a zip folder, and all files in the folder then seem to be broken links

    • Do you have the Microsoft Compatibility pack installed? It sounds like you are using an old version of Office like Office 2003 which can’t natively open these files. This is a free addon from the Microsoft site.

    • I’ve just tested again from my work laptop using two different browsers (Chrome and IE 9) and both work fine, the files download fine and open in powerpoint so the files seem to be intact. Given that they are downloaded dozens of times a day without many problems it might be worth checking your pc. What browser are you using? Have you tried on a different pc or different internet connection? Sorry I can’t be of more help!

  2. Great resources, Rob! Well done – I’m going to look at them in more detail but a great start for us as we have two senior team (including me) teaching BTEC out of 3 teachers, so our coordinator is a little stressy and overloaded!
